Benjamin is an individual who loves to dance, sing, write and live, yet, dancing i would love to get better! A born citizen of San Francisco, Benjamin Hughes, considers himself a writer FIRST. He began writing in the fall of 1999 after attending an open mic. Since then, he has never looked back.
The first stage to grace was IU Soul Revue and went on to have recited poetry on the same stages as M1 [Dead Prez], Talib Kweli, Nikki Giovanni, Sonia Sanchez, Patricia Smith, Mike McGee, Mo Browne, the band IsWhat, Susan Taylor, The Last Poets, acclaimed Carnegie Soprano Angela Brown, etc, etc.
